League Play

Where?
The Preserve at Eisenhower Golf Course
1576 Generals Highway
Crownsville, MD 21032

When?
League Play is on Thursday evenings between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. for nine (9) holes.  Starting in May, the second Thursday of the month is Charity Night where we collect donations for our charity and have a 50/50 raffle.

Weather permitting, League nights will start in April and continue to the Club Championship at the end of August.  Some members continue to enjoy playing together after the Club Championship through the month of October, as weather and daylight permits.
How do I participate?
Great news!  We can now make our tee times online using SignUp Genius.  An invite email to sign up will be sent to members 7 days in advance of each week's round.  You may also make changes during that timeframe. Please remember that CLGA has tee times blocked out from 4:30p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Cancellations should be made 24-48 hours in advance by notifying the league Chair. The TeamReach mobile app is a great way to message players in your group if you will be late. You may also call The Preserve at 410-222-3400 and follow the recorded instructions to reach the Pro Shop.

Each Thursday, except Charity nights, the League Chair provides a golf game to play. Please pick up the game sheet in the Pro Shop when you pay your green fees. After the round, many of our members will gather at the Rams Head Roadhouse for food, drink, and socializing. Completed game sheets are handed to the League Chair at the Rams Head Roadhouse. If you are not staying, you may take a picture and send it to the League Chair or hand your game sheets to another player to give to the League Chair.
Weekly Winners
Game sheets are collected from all League players for that evening's play.
Please note that the game score does not necessarily correlate to the player’s golf score for the 9 holes. Points will be awarded for playing each week and each point will result in a ticket entered into the CLGA Championship lottery.  Weekly prizes accrue through the season and are awarded at the End-of-Season Dinner.

In order for our members to compete equally in the Club Championship, member handicaps are used. This gives all our members the opportunity to be the CLGA Club Champion.

Charity Nights
Charity Night is a way for CLGA to give back to our community. Each season, a charity or charities are selected by the Executive Board. Charity Night is typically hosted on the second Thursday of the month from May through August. Members receive an email to sign up for each Charity Night. Dinner follows at a predetermined location.

Our 2026 will be listed soon.

2026 Charity Nights: May 14, June 11, July 9, and August 13

Club Championship
The CLGA Club Championship is played in late August
on a regularly scheduled Thursday evening.  The exact date will be announced in June or July.
This year, the ten players who will participate will be chosen randomly from a collection of tickets earned for each week you play. If you show up and play you get a ticket.  You can also earn a ticket by donating money to our charity.  At the beginning of the season you will be asked if you would like to be eligible to participate in the championship lottery.  This is optional for everyone.  Two weeks before the championship date we will draw 10 tickets to determine who our players will be.  The more you play during the season, the better your chances of making the championship.

To be eligible for the championship you must:

1.  Have a GHIN handicap
2. Have someone serve as a caddy for the tournament.

3. Must play a minimum of 5 league nights.  Saturday outings are not included.

Players will play nine (9) holes through an elimination process. Handicaps will come into play. The last player standing is the CLGA Club Champion for the season.

After the round, all players, members, caddies and fans are invited to celebrate the winner with dinner and drinks at a predetermined location. At our end-of-season dinner, the Club Champion is recognized and awarded the coveted CLGA pink jacket.
